Quintessential. These are some the tracks that Howard Stern should have requested. 11/16/2010.
How I miss the day when artists created real albums. This is my favorite Billy Joel album. From beginning to end it flows smoothly and every song is good. I love the two instrumental songs Root Beer Rag and Mexican Connection. Souviner is a great song with sweet lyrics. I also love how most songs on this album have a little country influence to them. I would love to go back in time, walk into a small smokey lounge to find Billy Joel on piano singing and playing this album.
I've always been a fan ,even though I didn't know Piano Man was yours for a week or two. (FM DJ's didn't talk too much-probably tokin' in studio)
Streelife Seranade really does paint a great picture of a neighborhood, and its' life.
Favorite ? Root Beer Rag; it's the first one I tried to play by memory years after taking lessons.
Remember when the Fan Newsletter was the Root Beer Rag? I do.
This is a wonderful album that people don't really know about because there's not many big hits on it. I love the song "Souvenir." It is such a nice, calming song to listen to after a long day at work. "The Mexican Connection" and "Weekend Song" are two of my other favorites.
“Root Beer Rag” is one of Billy Joel's best works, alongside Piano man...of Course!!!
Another good track on this album is “The Mexican Connection”.
This album is my favorite of not only Billy's but of all time! This album has so many great songs and Instrumentals. It also has my favorite song Great Suburban Showdown. It hink it is a great song. It can relate to my experiencees going home. I also like (my 2nd favorite song) Sttreetlife Serenader. It is a wonderful song with amazing lyrics. f you want to expirence an album that you will LOVE, Streetlife is for you.
