Billy Joel Adds 8th Show At Madison Square Garden August 7, 2014

[December 13, 2013, New York, NY] – Madison Square Garden Entertainment announced today that music icon Billy Joel has added an eighth show at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, August 7, 2014, as part of the Time Warner Cable Concert Series. The performance is part of Joel’s franchise run at The World’s Most Famous Arena.

Earlier this month, Madison Square Garden announced that Joel became The Garden’s first-ever music franchise. He will kick off this franchise at MSG performing a show a month, as long as there is demand, beginning in January 2014. The August 7 show will be available for purchase by the general public beginning at 10AM (EST) on Friday, December 20th via ticketmaster.com and by calling 866-858-0008. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning Monday, December 16 at 10AM (EST) through Thursday, December 19 at 10PM (EST). Tickets will also be available at the Madison Square Garden box office on Saturday, December 21. The seven previously announced shows — January 27, February 3, March 21, April 18, May 9, June 21, July 2 show — are sold out. Prices range from $64.50 to $124.50. The concerts are being promoted by MSG Entertainment in association with AEG Live and Q104.3.

Having sold more than 150 million records over the past quarter century, Joel ranks as one of most popular recording artists and respected entertainers in history. The singer/songwriter/composer is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all time and the third best-selling solo artist. Earlier this month, Joel received The Kennedy Center Honors, one of the United States' top cultural awards. Joel performed at the historic 12-12-12, The Concert For Sandy Relief, joining other music greats to raise awareness and money to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy. He has received six GRAMMY® Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. He has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous industry awards. His music has also served as the inspiration and score for the hit Tony Award-winning Broadway play “Movin’ Out.”
