Wow, I have loved his music forever. I saw him in Concert for the first time at the age of 13 after the release of "The Stranger". 17 concert attendances later, he still blows me away.
It was a very unseasonably cold night and it bucketed down with rain from time to time but it never dampened the spirits of anyone there, least of all myself and my husband. I sang along to very song and smiled from ear to ear.
It was an honour and a privilage to hear Billy perform "Christmas in Feluja(sp)" I SO wish I had recorded it on my mobile phone as I may never get to hear him sing it again, It was the ONLY song he played that I actually just sat back and listened - it was new to me (believe it or not!) and very poignant. I've already searched, he has never recorded it with he himself singing.
So he braved the cold, made fun of the wind and started his Australian tour to a pretty much capacity crowd.
My first outdoor concert ever, the sound quality was impeccable. The tickets sat on my fridge for so long waiting for tonight to arrive and now sadly, it is over.
Well done Billy, I have always loved watching you do what you do so well and hope there is another chance for me to make it to concert number 18!
