My wife and I recently saw both Billy and Elton in Salt lake City. We enjoyed his comments about all the various venues of previous concerts. For us we discovered Billy in 1972 I think when he was the warmup acts for "whatever happened to Seals and Crofts". We have attended evry concert in utah since then even the one at BYU. The face to face concert was fantastic and i look forward to the next one.

He didn't live there for long, but he captured and expressed so eloquently what is was like to live there at that time. And he just kept getting better.Having just moved back from Europe, I heard about the concert after the first one had already sold out. I was lucky enough to get tickets to the Friday show. I flew up from Florida and my brother drove up from Maryland.

INSPIRATION

Billy Joel's songs have always been an inspiation to me. Songs like "You're only human" were helpful growing up. I grew up in upstate New York, and everytime I start missing it, I close my eyes and listen to "New York state of mind." I have loved writing storries and songs for as long as I can remember, and I hope to one day be known for even one of the songs I have written. Billy Joel's life tells me that it is possible. Though I am satisied to just listen to his cd's, It was even better to see him live in concert. I know that if I can write as well as he sings, that there will be no limit to where I can go. I would love to hear more songs about his daughter. Lullaby was the most beautiful song I've ever heard. Its nice to be able to hear a song so soothing on the many days when I am sick at home. Thank you for what you do.

Any Billy Joel in North Carolina, southern Virginia?

I know a lot of people who would love and here you play Billy, including me! My dad actually went to your high school, Sanford H. Calhoun. I love your music, my favorite song being "Tell Her About It". Your other stuff is amazing too. I really adore your fast, strong songs. If you were to come to North Carolina, you could attract a lot of young listeners. (Not excluding the rather elderly) Thanks!

ARIGATO BILLY JOEL!!!ARIGATO TOKYO!!!

At Tokyo Dome-full of Christmas illumination decorating on November 18,2008, Billy Joel sang 21 songs at his 2 hours live concert non-stop. Wow..Yes, without a break!.It was just awesome. It was a great time to sing along during the concert. You can sing the songs too now. Here they are:
1. The Stranger (1977): Billy opened the show with the whistle and piano…-wow..
2. Prelude-Angry Young man (1976): oh..what a wonderful piano playing
3. My life (1978): After this song he gave his opening speech. Konbanwa..Konnichiwa Tokyo…
4. The Entertainer (1974): what an impressive gesture he did
5. Just The Way You Are(1977): It`s a special song for-my ex.1st wife he said…
6. Zanzibar (1978): It`s not a hit song…ehm…why we are doing this tonight?, he looked back and asked to the band.. ha..ha
7. New York State of Mind (1976): ..hope a flight to Miami Beach or to TOKYO…
8. Allentown (1982): Well we're living here in Allentown..
9. Honesty (1978): is hardly ever heard and mostly what I need from you…
10. Stranger (1977):Music is getting `hot` and rocks up to this song
11. Pressure (1982): ichi, ni,san,..pressure!
12. Don`t Ask Me Why (1980): dance along
13. Keeping the Faith (1983): dance along
14. She is Always A Woman to Me (1977): I can`t stand not to sing along to this beautiful song. It`s best for a slow dance.
15. River of Dream (1993): wonderful drum and choir…dance along
16. Funny song: sang by other funny singer, Billy with baseball cap hold a guitar. This is not Billy`s song, however everybody esp.japanese start to dance..
17. We didn`t start the fire (1984): yeah it`s hot..hot
18. It`s still rock and roll to me (1980): yes..still rock and- roll to us..Billy!
19. You May Be Right (1980):after the song, the light is turning off. Billy disappeared. We were standing asking him for playing one more song..Moichido kudasai!
20. Only the good Die Young (1977): We saw a sudden flash of dazzling full-color light on the stage.. Billy sang again but start with playing sukiyaki song. Oh..what a light.
21. And the final song to close the concert..yeah..PIANO MAN (1973). The time was 8.58..he looked at his watch..then he started to sing. It's nine o'clock on a Saturday, the regular crowd shuffles in..there`s an old man sitting next to me…
Six songs played that night were taken from the album The Stranger (1977). It`s the biggest selling album and win two Grammys. Billy receives 6 Grammys, other 26 awards and honors, highly contributes in making music, lectures actively in music instrument at Universities. It is without a doubt that Billy gets honorary doctorate from Berklee College at music (1993), Hofstra University (1997), and Long Islands University (2000) Syracuse University (2006), Manhattan School of Music (2008). It was unforgettable night to all his fans at Tokyo and Japan, especially to me. That night is mine, can last forever. It happens during my doctoral study in The University of Tokyo. Since I am from Indonesia, it is probably impossible to see his live concert in Jakarta. He is the greatest entertainer, guru, genius-old piano man. Sweet, jokey, humbly, Billy is so real.`....Sing us a song you`re the piano man. Sing us a song tonight. Well we're all in the mood for a melody And you've got us feeling alright... ` ARIGATO BILLY JOEL!!!ARIGATO TOKYO!!!

A Brush with Billy

I have been a Billy Joel Fan since The Stranger was released, on vinyl – what’s that my kids ask? Now at 43 years old and over 17 concerts I am still a fan, an advocate and connoisseur of his music. My three kids love his music as well and “Just the Way You Are” was the first dance at my wedding 15 years ago. My oldest son’s first concert was at 6 years old (he wore ear protection) - Billy Joel in Indy. He has seen BJ (2) and once with EJ. Billy’s music has always resonated with me – I could always find solace and perspective in his music and lyrics.

Of all the concerts I have been to I have a Billy Joel story that I tell to this day. I remember it like it was yesterday but it was 20 years ago. My two sisters and my best friend drove from Maine to Providence RI for the concert and needed a place to stay. We ended up at the Biltmore - guess who was staying there? After the concert there was large security detail posted in the lobby, at that moment we knew that BJ was staying there as well.

After we retired to our room to freshen – up we headed to the lounge. After about 15 minutes Tommy Byrnes comes in followed Crystal and then Billy. The bar was nearly empty there may have been a total of 20 of us in there. BJ sits at the bar and sips red wine for most of the evening. About midnight rolls around and we have made new friends when Tommy comes and sits with us – he tells us some road stories and then calls Billy over to introduce us. We all talk for maybe 5 minutes but my initial stories I probably exaggerated the story to hours of conversation. Billy returned to his bar stool when some dope asked him to play on the house piano – BJ politely refused and he left shortly after.

As last call approached Tommy suggested that we all head up to Canada to see the next concert –he was hitting on my sisters and friends (lol). Our group was heading to the elevator we ran into BJ again – this time the lobby was mobbed with more fans that found a way into the hotel. Sean BJ security guy started giving people a hard time – “leave him alone” was a common comment. My group was completely benign and we started to go to an adjoining elevator when Sean gave me “S#@$” too – I responded by stated that we were guests as well and to back-off. He was taken back that I talked like to him – my response was I was just listening to his boss. Billy ends all of his concerts “Don’t take S@#! From anybody”. BJ looked at me and laugh and all wished us a good night.

The next morning we had breakfast at a table adjoining Liberty and his family. As we were checking out we saw Sean who just smirked and BJ as they jumped in a cab.

This was my brush with BJ and an experience that I talk about to this day.

Maple Leaf Gardens 1993

It's announcd that Billy Joel is going to Tour Toronto for his River of Dreams Tour. I had never seen Billy Joel, I had always lived over 500 Miles away. Never had the money, the time or even the knowledge that he was touring, after all it was before the internet! How could I know? But I knew now....I lived close, I had a credit card and if I had to, I was going to call in sick! (C'mon it's Billy Joel, a once in a life time thing!) With The phone in hand, my fingers dialing endlessly...Puff! I scored my tickets and they were coming by mail. It's arranged! My date? November 10th, 1993!

The week before he was to arrive, he called in sick. My heart sank when I saw it on GlobalTV. Something about a his voice...I couldn't hear the reason since I was in my own little world...upset like some sick teenager. The options were to get the money back for the tickets, or hold on to 'em..(mmmm which was I gonna go? Yeah right!)

So Billy comes to Toronto in May. Cough Cough....I got the time off. We walk into Maple Leaf Gardens and the stage is set. We sit in our seats waiting patiently...what's another 10 minutes when you've been waiting for 6 months? The lights go down....Billy Walks on stage...a single light shines on him as he kinda waves like he's sorry he's late. Then...without warning, Liberty DeVito starts warming up the drum kit....the beats have never been heard before, yet, it sounds familiar! Suddenly, he's disappearing under the stage and Billy Joel is now reappearing from below on his Piano, playing notes never heard before on ANY album. Yet strangely, it' sounds familiar! As the notes and beats get jammed together with other instruments from Crystal, David and Mark, it hits the audience like jack Hammer, it's the Canadian National Anthem, done with the talents of the whole band! We sat in shock because we had never heard our anthem done so well!! Then Billy and Band got into the the River of Dreams songs. After 3 tunes, Billy said hello and being a great baseball fan, congradulated the Toronto Fans on the Toronto Blue Jays World Series championship. I think that the night went by so fast, like I had wished the concert could have lasted a year. Yes, I know...all good things come to end. The memories that night brought have stayed with me since. As he and the band were playing, I knew that this was something special, this was a legend on stage. Anyone who has seen Mr. Joel knows, that no matter how much the ticket is...his performance is worth every cent.

I wish to Thank Mr. Joel for the memories.

The two best concerts ever

Billy Joel has been a music artists for a long time and I have admired him for the 17 years of my life. I am young and I love his music. I could listen to it all day every day. I fall asleep at night listening to it. His music has inspired me as well as other people I assume. When I went to the first concert April 17, 2007 I had butterflies in my stomach because I was so excited to see him in concert because I am a HUGE fan and listen to him all the time. Just watching him walk out on stage made me so exicted and realize wow I finally made it. I have had a goal in life to meet him and if it was to ever happen it would be one of the best days of my life. I have looked forward to every concert he has done that i have been too. Myself being only a senior at school I can't make it to as many concerts as I would like but I think about it all the time as if what if I was there right now I would be having a blast., My favorite song is "Only the good die young" I never can wait for that song to start playing at the concerts when I go. I count down to the concerts when they are close, I almost drive my parents insane. I remember the first one more than the second one becuase it was my first, but the second concert on April 23, 2008 was amazing as well. The only downfall was it was at the Bell Center in Montreal and I couldnt bring in my camera and I was close this time and wished I had pictures so when I get older my kids can see him and know how amazing he is. I remember the performance of "Big Shot" when I was at the first concert it was awesome and it just makes me have a big smile to know that I am at a concert of someone I really love he is my favorite artist ever and I love his music and I could never of asked for my dad to introduce me to the best music ever becuase if he didn't I would not know who billy joel probably was and I can't wait to attend another concert and hopefully be front row.

Terrific

I have seen Billy Joel perform several times including near my home town in New Jersey. I most recently saw his show in Pittsburgh, PA this past April. The music is timeless. The show was wonderful, I was only disappointed that I was not able to see it again in NYC at Shea. I really enjoyed the variety of songs that he put into the show such as including Zanzibar which has not been played at any of the shows that I have been to before. I have every album, tape and CD that Billy has ever made and have been a fan since I can remember. Billy is always the number one choice on my Zune for listeing and I like many others know the words to every song there is. Keep the shows and new albums coming!!!!

Thanks for a great show

I was at the July 16th show at Shea...and yes it wasn't the Last Play exactly but it was still an amazing show. To those complaining I say give me a break. I don't know about you ...but the reason I bought the tickets was because I'm a huge Billy Joel fan (this is my 5th concert) and a huge Mets fan and I knew what an amazing concert Billy would put on at Shea. I didn't buy tickets to see Tony Bennet, John Mayer, John Mellencamp or Don Henley that was just an added bonus for me and my best friend (who was seeing Billy for the first time) The fact that the surprise guests were better or not at the second show didn't phase me because I was there for a Billy Joel concert and as usual he did not disappoint. So thank you to Billy Joel for putting on an amazing show as always! I look forward to the next time you play in New York....possibly as the first concert in Citifield?

Thank You Billy!!!

I've seen Billy live over 25 times with Nassau Col. 1977,as a
teenager, being my first. Every show is Fantastic and I just want to
thank Billy for that. Billy has always gone out of his way to please
his fans. In this day and age other artists charge for presales and
then charge ticket prices of $200 and up and perform 1 or 2 shows and
move on to the next city. Billy has never had a presale, has never
priced tickets above $100 and best of all, when his shows sell out he
simply adds another show and when that one sells out he adds another
and another. Billy actually enjoys playing live so adding more shows
is not a hardship for him.
I've always appreciated over the past 30 years that his shows
were not about dazzling effects or explosions on stage but rather
displayed his singing and playing of musical instruments. Billy has
always set the concert stage so everyone including those sitting
behind stage would get a good close look at him performing.
I would like to thank Billy for continuing to give Q & A
Lectures with a little music at numerous colleges during his free
time. It means so much to the students as Billy passes the torch to
the next generation of singer/songwriters.
I've had the pleasure of meeting Billy a couple of times upon
his arrival to perform a concert along with a dozen or so people who
seeked an autograph and Billy would always sign for everyone and even
say in a joking manner, "That's all you got"?
I've always been intrigued by the fact that for every show
concert goers with the highest and furthest seats away from the stage
Billy would move them to the 1st or 2nd row center stage. Billy has
even polled the audience in the middle of shows asking them which
songs they prefer to hear. Great gesture on his part.
So, with the release of "The Stranger - 30th Anniversary" I
would once again like to thank Billy for giving his fans what they
crave the most, Live concert music from argueably his best years.
Billy himself has said numerous times that the reason he
writes music is to hear it live. "I can't wait to play this stuff
live".
I hope sales of this release are good enough so future live
performances are also released. May I recommend a "Live from NY"
compilation consisting of:
1) 12/11/77 or 12/12/77 - Nassau Col. shows (incredible setlists)
2) 12/14/78 or 12/15/78 or 12/16/78 - MSG shows (top notch)
3) 6/23/80 or 6/24/80 or 6/26/80 or 6/27/80 or 6/28/80- MSG shows
(outstanding setlists)
I find it incredible that Billy's setlists are becoming
longer the older he gets such as 12 Gardens Live and Last Play at
Shea.
He is truly a blue collar musician who does what he loves and the
money was always secondary. Thanks again, Turnstiles Dan

Betrayed

I was SO excited when my husband and I were able to get tickets to the Wed. night concert! I first saw Billy at Yankee Stadium in 1990, and have loved his music ever since. His lyrics are so meaningful, and I have felt a strong connection to him, especially since he is a "hometown" boy. I was upset when the Fri. concert was added, but then I realized that I didn't have to be at the VERY last concert, because I was going to be part of an historic event anyway, so all was good. And it WAS good on Wed., but I feel now that Billy betrayed his fans by not treating both concerts equally. The guest artists on Wed. were wonderful, and Billy was better than ever, but having such a grand finale on Fri. with Paul McCartney was wrong! I think that if Paul couldn't have been at both concerts, he shouldn't have been at either one. On Wed., every time the music began for a Beatles song, the entire stadium quieted down and everybody held his breath and looked around for Paul. We were all hoping, and I feel it was unfair to give that extra treat to one group and not the other. in one comment, someone said that billy didn't know he as coming, that Paul surprised him too, but ultimately, Billy was in charge of the evening and should have made it clear that it should be both or nothing.

A Fantastic event...

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised when Sir Paul McCartney came onto the stage...what a moment.

Mr. Joel's concert was out of the park!!!! I am truly a fan, and have been for a very long time. My 30 plus year wait to finally see him in concert was fulfilled on July 18th, 2008. Thirty plus years is a long time to bide your time to see a consumate showman like Mr. Joel. His enthusiasm was great, the songs were phenominal, and the guest list, priceless!

I was poised at Midnite the day the tix went on sale, waiting patiently until the final moment to log in. At twenty seconds to 9 AM, I was inexplicably forced off the purchase site for 45 minutes. I tried several times to re-log into the site, to no avail. Finally, at 10 minutes after the show was sold out, I called Shea Stadium to purchase tix. There were 100 seats left and I got two: side by side.

I just want to thank Billy for providing me and my wife with the finest songs from the greatest entertainer to grace a stage, and for a wonderful memory of a lifetime. I will never forget it. I sincerely hope he continues to delight audiences for many more years to come.

From the high...to the low

I posted this comment two days ago, but magically it disappeared. Here it is one more time as I continue to feel that I was misled, despite Billy Joel's stated intentions and attempts to blame the Mets organization...

When Bily Joel announced back in February that he would play one last concert at the home of my NY Mets, I knew I would have to get tickets. I was thrilled to buy my full allotment of tickets for me and my entire family for Wedenesday evening's performance. Ultimately, I spent over $1,200 so my children, and my mother could see what I was sure would be a once in a lifetime event. I had hoped that guest appearances would cement the concert in history and thus be worth the money, and the effort to get everyone there.

But "The Last Play at Shea" became the “second to” last play at Shea. Even Billy boldly addressed this issue on Wednesday night when he joked that it was actually the "Last Double Play at Shea." That was not what I purchased. And while Wednesday night was special and amazing, the once in a lifetime event I thought I was buying tickets to happened on Friday. And while we were all on a high after Wednesday's concert with terrific guest performance by some rock greats, the legends were held for the true "Last Play" on Friday.

I now feel that we experienced one of the great bait and switches in concert history. Even Christie knew which night to attend as Friday became “The Last Play” with sir Paul, Roger Daltrey, Steven Tyler, even Garth Brooks.

To those who believe Wednesday's audience should be happy, I would ask: Given the choice, which concert would you have rather attended: the Second-to-Last Play at Shea, or the Last Play at Shea. Now imagine you bought the ticket for the latter, and it turned into the former.

So from Wednesday night’s high to the lows of what might have been, I am disappointed.

Thank You Billy!!

I went to the concert on July 18th and it was the best concert I have ever seen and most likely will ever see in my life. The fact the Billy was able to put that whole thing together as a tribute to Shea Stadium shows just how amazing he really is. All of the guest stars were incredable, but to see Paul McCartney sing "Let it Be" in front of a crowd of over 60,000 people is something that I will never forget. Thank you so much Billy for giving so much to me and the City of New York. You are a true legend.

In regards to the people who are upset about Wedsday, lets not forget who we all bought tickets to see.....Billy Joel. The guest stars were incredible, but it is a complete diservice to Billy Joel to complain about not being able to see someone else. If I only saw him, I would have still loved the concert...he is the true pride of New York and he was the only person that needed to be there.....anything else was a bonus. He did have four guest stars on Wednsday, and if that wasn't enough, then your just not a Billy Joel fan. After all, Friday's tickets went on sale after Wedsday's, so everyone could have bought them and sold their other tickets. Just be happy that you were at either concert and were able to see such a historic set of shows from the Piano Man himself!

Billy Joel's smile when he looked at the audience made it all the better. His face lit up everytime he
looked at the crowd. To see such a talented man appreciate his fans, and love what he does, made the entire evening feel like he was playing for us all as individuals. Billy is a wonderful piano player, singer and a humble human being. Thanks for having him play at Shea.

Once in a Lifetime

I am a Long Island girl, born and raised, and I moved to Highland Falls in 1972, when I was 15. I have been a Mets fan since I knew what baseball was, and I've been a Billy Joel fan since I first heard that harmonica opening Piano Man. I spent many days watching ball games (I saw Tom Seaver hit a home run!), both good seasons and bad. It's sad to see the stadium go. I spent even more days listening to Billy Joel. His music has been a huge part of my life. My kids grew up with his music. I saw him perform in Westchester after Turnstiles was released. I had always loved his music, but when I heard "Summer, Highland Falls" for the first time, I was blown away. He didn't live there for long, but he captured and expressed so eloquently what is was like to live there at that time. And he just kept getting better.

Having just moved back from Europe, I heard about the concert after the first one had already sold out. I was lucky enough to get tickets to the Friday show. I flew up from Florida and my brother drove up from Maryland. Despite the heat, the traffic, and the really bad parking situation, it was the best concert of my life. Not to mention Tony Bennett, Steven Tyler, and Roger Daltry!!! Gatrh Brooks was there, and although I'm not a country fan, the crowd seemed to like him. But when Paul McCartney came out, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I expected a great concert, but this went way beyond that. This was a once in a lifetime event and I'll never ever forget it. Thank you, Billy, et al, for the time of my life.

You're so LUCKY

Hey lighten up, some of us have just YouTube video's to look at for either date, I couldn't get out to NYC this week, so sorry if I'm not feeling sorry for anyone who missed Paul. Both concerts looked like a blast, and you just have to thank Mr. Joel for such a great memory. Don't screw it up just because you missed two songs with Paul. I'm hoping the DVD is released very soon. If you want a Beatles fix, I think Paul is up in Quebec next week for a free concert to celebrate Quebec City's 400th anniversary, you want historic, that's pretty fricken historic.

Cheers.

definitely cheated

I completely agree, maddyw. Everyone in my family manned their computers, fingers poised for the second Wednesday's tickets went on sale. We were lucky to get 6 great seats. My Dad is a long-time Billy fan, and a huge New York baseball fan and Wednesday was his Birthday. We were all excited to see Billy again, and to be a part of history. As soon as Friday's show was announced we were disappointed, and felt duped. Why were additional shows not added for earlier dates? There was no way we could all afford tickets for Friday, too. We went to the concert Wednesday very excited, but also with our eyes open wider to what it really comes down to for some people, even when they're local heroes, money. Billy's apology did not help. It couldn't have been less sincere, and insulted all of us who are not and did not purchase tickets from scalpers. As the night wore on, Billy sweated away, and the guests kept coming out, we felt he was going to make it up to us after all. He kept musically and verbally referencing The Beatles; we were SURE Paul McCartney was standing by in the wings. The excitement grew as the night got later, especially when he started up She Loves You during the encore. But, there were no more guests, and the night ended rather anticlimactically with Souvenir. I LOVE Tony Bennett, Don Henley, and John Mellencamp, but we had been first duped, then led on all night into thinking there was a Beatle in the house, then awoken Saturday to news of the Royal send-off Shea ultimately received. It is nothing short of MESSED UP, and I will never spend a penny on Billy Joel again.

Last Play at Shea

After Wednesday's show, i did go looking for tix to the friday gig. eventhough i was upper deck , the sound was good, the staging was cool, and Billy was great to party with. it was exciting. but then every billy concert is like that. this was just BIGGER. lol i was still reelin all day thursday and friday. Oh! to the ladies who stuck dollar bills in my waistband during "big man on mulberry st" thanks. i guess i got a little carried away. heheh,
i guess i shouldn't have been surprised, that after wed., the prices would double and more on stub hub.

i've read some people say they were disappointed not to go to the actual last show. that they didn't get to see paul. i'm sure paul would have been there for both if billy had anything to say about it.
but DAMMIT i was going to "hear" billy and be part of a celebatory wake for shea! couldn't really care about paul. he may have got to shea first, but he isn't from here. just glad to hear he didn't subject the crowd to "come to my house tonight" or whatever the song's called.

i was disappointed he played summer highland falls and this night on friday, not wed! but iif i got all i want we would have been there til dawn.

well, i have 20 someodd mets games to go at shea, and hopefully a championship so thanks for a great night, billy and LEt"S GO METS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ya gotta believe and don't take no s.h.i.t from the phillies!

And Let It Be

Shea's rock and roll heritage was let be on Friday in a manner reserved for rock and roll royalty. A night rivaling events such as Woodstock began with Billy playing his depper tracks, as he pulls out on special occassions like the 2000 NYE show at the Garden. Flagged by greats Bennet, Brooks, Doughtry and McCartney, the building was litterally shaking in the beat. The most amazing part is watching the man who sold the place out, sit and be a fan at the end of the night, no one looked happier than Billy did when he got to sing with his Idol on stage. This is a night which will truly last forever!

last play

I would like to hear from some of the people who had tickets for the ORIGINAL Last Play at Shea Concert. Billy could have played 10 shows and they would have ALL been sold out. Wednesday's show was fantastic - Billy g ave it his all. No one w as disappointed but to find out that Paul McCartney played Friday night, well I feel as if we were cheated. We did after all purchase tickets for the LAST show. If a show were to be added it should have been before the Wednesday date.

THE LAST PLAY AT SHEA 7/18/08

Billy, YOU ROCKED THE HOUSE!

I have been to 24 Billy Joel concerts including last nights "LAST PLAY ST SHEA" I have to say that every concert that Ive been to, they all seem to get better than the one before. But last night wasnt just better. It was absolutely AMAZING!! Ive never had such an awesome time at one of Bilyl's concerts as I did last night. From hearing Billy sing the National Anthem, to hearing so many of my favorite songs spanning decades of music, to seeing him perform "Goodnight Saigon" with all of the members of the US Armed Forces on stage. (which sems to be becoming the norm for Billy). Billy was great! The "surprise guests" were great! and the way that Paul Mccartney ended the show by singing "Let it Be" with some help from Billy, was the icing on the cake! I know that the Beatles have always been a great inspiration to Billy. So it was only fitting that the show ended with Mccartney. Last nights concert left me with memories that I will have for the rest of my life!! I knew as soon as I heard that Billy Joel was performing at Shea Stadium that the concert would be something special. I never would have imagined that It would be as UNBELIEVABLE as it was.

Billy, As usual, you are a Musical genius. Thank you for providing me with memories that im sure will last a lifetime. I hope to see you again sometime soon.

52nd Street Tour Hollywood Sportatorium-Hollywood, Florida

1978 Hollywood, Florida @ The Hollywood Sportatorium.....Big Shot, My Life shook the rafters of this 18,000 seat venue originally built to house the Miami Tropics of the ABA. 16 years old and loving it!!!! This would be the first of 4 memorable opportunities to see Billy; everyone seemed to be better the next time but like your first time...you never forget.
Miami 2017, Say Goodbye to Hollywood and New York State of Mind sent the crowd into a frenzy. Billy may have not become a mega-star HOF rocker yet but with all the transplanted New Yorkers who were already fans of yes...Cold Spring Harbour, Streetlife and Turnstiles, lest we forget Piano man every song had meaning this night.

Congratulations on the best compilation since My Life with the 30th Anniversary edition of The Stranger!
While I am writing this entry; I am watching the DVD of The Old Grey Whistle Test concert; OUTSTANDING!!!! Every song feels different; yet incredibly pertinent to the time. The Target exclusive was also outstanding with the special 5 song DVD.

My poster will soon be in a frame in my office where when I look at it; takes me back to 1978 when life was a little easier and when Billy was on the turntable anything seemed possible.

Summer Highland Falls is still next to many Beatles tunes the greatest song ever written.

Everybody has a Dream and mine is to meet Mr. Joel one day and share some pasta and a cold drink.
