'Goodnight Saigon' Brings Recognition To U.S. Veterans - Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund

On July 26th, Billy Joel was joined on stage by Vietnam veterans and active-duty service members for a performance of "Goodnight Saigon" at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. The performance would not have been possible without the help of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. Please visit the VVMF Official Blog to read their story, and you can watch this video that they posted below.

Re: 'Goodnight Saigon' Brings Recognition To U.S. Veterans - Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund

Billy Joel is lucky that those people will show up at his "ceremonies", isn't he? They do not want to show up in Baptist Churches anymore; or in Christian churches, in general, I think. The ones who wear your country's uniform obviously do not like that the Christian pastors say: "Here are the ones who protect our country, clap for them, pray for them..." In a way I do agree with them staying away from religious ceremonies, whether it is Muslim, Buddhist, New Age or what ever religion, because politics and war is not something Jesus was practicing. He said that "My kingdom is not of this world." He told his followers to turn the other cheek, and that he was sending them out as sheep among wolves. Still I can understand their hurt. The soldiers said: "We are not your protectors!", in a way. They are protecting only the atheists, since they do show up there? But who cares. We are to put our trust in God and His angels, so the Baptists should not waste time hurting when the soldiers reject being a good example (idol) to Christian kids. After all Barack Obama has banned soldiers from sharing their faith on duty, and that I can understand, too. Christian solider saying: "I believe Jesus told us to follow in His example!", Muslim soldier saying: "Muhammed told us to kill every Jew and Christian behind every rock, where ever we find them!", Jewish soldier: "We are God's chosen people, and he has given us every country of the great Canaan, and the heathens are to submit to our Talmudic law!" - Barack Obama has to seperate religion from the soldiers, and himself, does he not? "God" bless America, though, and "In God we trust", but Obama says that "The US is not a Judeo-Christian country!", but "The Muslim is the fabric of the U.S. society". Like Shirley Caeasar sang with the former soldiers of Iraq; "How many will be rememebered? Just a few. When they start taking down names from the hall of fame... how many will be remembered." - Maybe the Christians are not the fabric of the U.S. society? I wonder, aren't they all? You are who you are, as a whole, but the leaders set the standard for all, with their "democratic faith", which never is banned.
