Carl Fischer Performing Live August 1 and August 3

Carl Fischer (Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Trombone, Saxophone) is a world class trumpet player who has performed and recorded with a virtual who's who of the music world including Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Will Smith, jazz legend Maynard Ferguson, Blood Sweat & Tears, Wynton Marsalis & the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and many more. Carl also is an accomplished band leader, with two groups of his own: Organic Groove Ensemble and the Carl Fischer Nouveau Big Band.

Carl is performing live with his Organic Groove Ensemble this Thursday, August 1 at Hudson's on the Mile in Freeport, NY and again with his Nouveau Big Band on August 3 headlining the Scranton Jazz Festival in Scranton, PA.

Carl recently joined Billy onstage at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and you can see him performing in this video of "Big Man On Mulberry Street" from AXS TV:

While a member of the Billy Joel band, Carl recorded and released his third studio CD entitled Adverse Times, which features original music from Carl, as well as two original arrangements of the Billy Joel songs "Downeaster 'Alexa'" and "Elegy For The Fisherman" which can be purchased at Carl's website (www.fischmusic.com). Billy had this to say about the album:

"Carl is a gifted musician and someone I have had the pleasure of performing with over the past eight years. With the release of Adverse Times, Carl firms his place in a lineage of truly great trumpet players. From pop to hard-driving funk, from world flavors to inspired renditions of some of my own compositions, the album will appeal to a wide range of listeners and definitely should not be missed!"
