Billy Joel Returns To Target Center May 16th In Minneapolis

BILLY JOEL IN CONCERT RETURNS TO TARGET CENTER ON MAY 16TH

Artist’s 10th SHOW PERFORMANCE IN ARENA’S 25 YEAR HISTORY

Minneapolis, MN – Target Center announced today that Billy Joel will perform in Minneapolis on Saturday, May 16, 2015. This concert marks Joel’s first appearance at the arena since 1999.

“Billy Joel is a true music legend and an artist who has played a huge role in Target Center’s history,” said Steve Mattson, Vice President and General Manager – Target Center/AEG Facilities. “He helped put this arena on the map by selling out 4 shows in November 1990. We are so excited to be heading into our 25th year with such an iconic performer highlighting on our event calendar!”

The May 2015 Minneapolis concert will mark Billy Joel’s 10th performance at Target Center. Joel has sold over 171,000 tickets to date at the arena.

Having sold 150 million records over the past quarter century, Billy Joel ranks as one of most popular recording artists and respected entertainers in history. The singer/songwriter/composer is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all time, the third best-selling solo artist and is one of the highest grossing touring artists in the world. Joel has received six GRAMMY® Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. Most recently, he received the Kennedy Center Honor, The Library Of Congress Gershwin Prize For Popular Song and the ASCAP Centennial Award. He has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous industry awards.
