Billy Joel Returns To MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, June 7, 2014

LAS VEGAS (December 13, 2013) –Billy Joel will return to Las Vegas for a one-night performance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, June 7. The performance marks Joel’s first solo headlining appearance at MGM Grand since 2009.

American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17 at 10:00 AM through FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20 at 10:00 PM. Tickets will be available for purchase by the general public beginning 10 AM on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21 at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (select Smith’s Food and Drug Centers and Ritmo Latino). Ticket sales are limited to eight ( 8 ) per person. To charge by phone with a major credit card, call Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. Billy Joel is one of the top-grossing touring artists in the industry. The singer/songwriter/composer is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all-time and the third best-selling solo artist, having sold more than 150 million albums worldwide. He has received countless awards over the course of his career including six GRAMMY Awards, highlighted by the prestigious GRAMMY Legend Award, and has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame as well as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The fan favorite was recently honored by Steinway & Sons with a painted portrait that hangs in Steinway Hall in Manhattan. Joel was the first non-classical pianist to be immortalized in the collection. His performance in front of more than 110,000 fans at one of the final concerts at Shea Stadium was featured in the 2010 documentary film “The Last Play At Shea.” His music also has served as the inspiration and score for the hit Tony Award-winning Broadway play “Movin’ Out.” Last weekend, Joel was one of five recipients to be awarded The Kennedy Center Honor, one of the United States’ top cultural awards.

The MGM Grand Garden Arena is home to concerts, championship boxing and premier sporting and special events. The MGM Grand Garden Arena also is home to the annual Academy of Country Music Awards, annual Billboard Music Awards, annual iHeartRadio Music Festival and the Frozen Fury NHL pre-season game which features the Los Angeles Kings vs. Colorado Avalanche.
