Joel's lyrics have made many references to locations in the New York City metropolitan area, particularly Long Island. For example, the "Miracle Mile" line in 1980s "It's Still Rock & Roll to Me" refers to the affluent shopping district located on Northern Boulevard in the community of Manhasset and 1980's "You May Be Right" references walking through the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn alone as proof of craziness. In "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant", Joel sings "Do you remember those days hanging out at the village green?" referring to a park adjacent to a shopping center close to his childhood home in Hicksville. That song also references a "Parkway Diner", which is located on the border of Levittown and East Meadow, Long Island, although it is now the Empress Diner. And, in "Leningrad", Joel drew comparison between US and USSR cold war experiences when he sang "children lived in Levittown and hid in the shelters underground" referring to Levittown, the hamlet next to Hicksville that was famously developed after World War II and known as "America's first suburb."

My father had a '65 panhead and when he used to get home from work tired as all hell and grumpy, he would throw me on with him and ride that S.O.B. down Ocean Parkway like no tomorrow. We both came back with s*** ass grins on our faces and all was well with the world again. I miss those days, but forever got the bug to ride.
My girl and I took a ride to the North Shore this past Sunday and stopped at a local watering hole to quench our thirst and parked there was a Royal Enfield military bike, man it was perfect. A true classic and done so well.
So, while smoking a butt and eyeing this machine and a Indian parked next to it, I noticed a Billy Joel looking guy at the table wearing a Indian motorcycle hat and asked him if it was his Indian and briefly talked some s*** about bikes.
To be honest I havent listened to Billy Joel since I was an 8th grade punk chasing girls, but when someone told me it was him and he owned the Enfield that would be displayed at a show, I went on this site to get more info. His list of bikes is pretty well rounded with some great classics, oh yeah the '65 panhead is also listed. A '49 knuckle head....nice. looks like a great exhibit. Worth checking out.
