On the evening of Thursday, Feb. 23, Billy Joel took the stage in Lynn University’s Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center for “An Evening of Questions & Answers … And a Little Music.” The sold-out event was an intimate engagement only open to Lynn students, staff and faculty that brought together an audience from several generations. One student asked, “What does it feel like to know your music spans generations?” “It feels damn good,” said Joel who was first seen by some audience members in the 1970s while others were first introduced to his music on Sesame Street.

In the latest video from our Billy Joel "Questions & Answers" lecture series, Billy is asked about how he continued to persevere as an artist before he became famous. In his answer below, Billy explains how he never doubted what he was going to do.

Billy Joel attended the Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show on January 28th, where he thrilled the crowd when he got up and sang with a local band, The Whipping Post. Event organizer Clare Frost said, "He walked through the crowd without people really knowing who he was and looked at the over 230 vintage bikes on display and talked to a few of our vendors and out of the blue, he walks up on stage and stood there facing the lead singer, Bob. Bob did a double take and Billy asked him if he could jam with them."
