please help me to be able to sing like this

I asked my son to get this for my 56th birthday gift for 2 reasons: Billy is one of the musical artist whose music that we both enjoy (he's 19)- we were lucky enough to attend the last show at Shea Stadium on July 18, a show we'll never forget. Seats $98 each. And secondly-I attended the show at Carnegie Hall on 6/3/1977 that was recorded and is included in the set. I still have the stub-balcony seat-$7. Both my children remarked on how high his voice sounded on this recording compared to how it sounded at he Shea show. I vaguely remember his remarks in 1977 about the lights being raised in the house because management didn't appreciate the "smoking" taking place in the Hall and that he could perform with the lights on or off. However, I don't recall the different verse in "The Entertainer" about "sparkles", "perspiration stains", or "vericose veins" at all. Thanks for issuing this and bringing back some old memories!!!

I think the boxset is fantastic! I have heard most of the songs from the Stranger in my life but never the entire album. Since buying the boxset I have listened to the album a lot. It is a fantastic piece of work. The DVD of the Old Grey Whistle Test is a nice treat and classy addition to the boxset.
