Anthony works in the grocery store
Savin' his pennies for someday
Mama Leone left a note on the door,
She said,
"Sonny, move out to the country."
Workin' too hard can give me
A heart attack
You oughta know by now
Who needs a house out in Hackensack?
Is that what you get with your money?
It seems such a waste of time
If that's what it's all about
If that's movin' up then I'm movin' out.
Sergeant O'Leary is walkin' the beat
At night he becomes a bartender
He works at Mister Cacciatore's down
On Sullivan Street
Across from the medical center
He's tradin' in his Checy for a Cadillac
You oughta know by now
And if he can't drive
With a broken back
At least he can polish the fenders
It seems such a waste of time
If that's what it's all about
If that's movin' up then I'm movin' out.
You should never argue with a crazy mind
You oughta know by now
You can pay Uncle Sam with overtime
Is that all you get for your money?
It seems such a waste of time
If that's what it's all about
If that's movin' up then I'm movin' out.

Re: Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)
I LOVE this song. It reminds me of me in my kind of rebellious stage I was in while I was still living at home while I was in college. I just wanted to make one comment on the LYRICS for this song you have a "TYPE O" where he's trading in his "CHEVY" for a Cadillac. In your lyrics it is written "CHECY". I thought it would be a good idea to bring this to your attention BILLY, I mean Mr. Billy Joel, we haven't been properly introduced. Since this is your OFFICIAL WEBSITE, I had to bring it to your attention, I didn't want your website looking tacky. Feel free to contact me any time at your earliest convenience would be wonderful! Thanks.

When I first heard this song I worked for Shop Rite for $3.76 an hour in a north new jersey town. TPTB later found the tasks I was required to do unsuitable for a 16 year old boy, the bailer that crushed cardboard was my racket. The culture of the union was extreme and dominate because my union dues exceeded the amount of tax out of my pay check. My boss abused me and forced me to swallow speed pills, yellows or blackies 10 for a dollar and it worked for me, Captain Jack was on the radio and Candy O by the Cars knocked at number one. I have no regrets and worked hard every day, learned that the real world owns your mistakes. I'm still alive somehow but others along the way have fallen hard, the energy and attitude of the early 1980's will never be understood until the story is told, perhaps some drama... anyway when I first heard Movin Out I was a high school sophomore getting high with a few bucks and Brenda & Eddie lived upstairs. The world has turned behind my back, I as witness. I'm still trying to figure thing out.

Also this is the same Baxter corp that was a U.S. based pharmaceutical company that just weeks ago was involved in a scandal involving vaccines tainted with deadly avian flu virus has been chosen to head up efforts to produce a vaccine for the Mexican swine flu that has seemingly migrated into the U.S. and Europe.
