Billy
All the members of this forum (Billy Joel Spanish) are proud of your Madison Square Garden 12 nights record, smashing the Springsteen record. Bruce has not been the same man since those days. Patty knows it too.
But we think you ought to attack him, again. And this time changing the place.
Since 1980 to 1987 the score in Spain was: Billy 2 Bruce 1. It was good.
But since 1988, up to now, the score is really sad: Billy 0 Bruce 29 (and 3 more to come this Summer, and I am not joking).
We think that something must be done. We would be delighted if total war was declared, but, maybe, it would be better try to catch him making no noise.
We are ready and waiting for you!!

Hi Pablo and every Billy Joel fan in Spain.
You know the saying "If the mountain doesn't come to Mohammed...". Well, this is what I'll do. Guess that this next Saturday April 24th 2010 will be the most important event concerning Billy Joel music in Spain since he was in Barcelona in 1980 (!). Let me explain why.
Billy Joel and his music have been an indispensable part of my life since I got "The Stranger" LP back in 1976. I play the piano (I'm piano professor) and sing not too bad (come on, pretty bad!), so I decided to make my dream come true: play and sing with Billy Joel at my 50th birthday party this next April 24th.
Unfortunately I guess that Bill will not be at my party (say Bill, you are kindly invited to join us!!!), so I'll have to do it most part of it by myself. My son Alfonso (he's 17) will play the electric bass, his friend Santos (18) the drums and my neighbour's son Hans (19) the double bass. I've made all the arrangements and I'm pretty proud of some of them, as the double bass has to play the sax, pizzicato bass, harmonica and strings depending on the song. We are to play "Root Beer Rag", "The Stranger", "52th Street", "My Baby Grand", "Temptation", "New York State of Mind" and "Piano Man" in the first part of the gig. In the second we'll play "The Mexican Connection", "Honesty", "Souvenir", "Lullaby", "Just the Way You Are", "It's Still Rock&Roll to Me" and "This Night".
It will be a surprise for all my friends, who don't know a word about it. I will close the doors of the Disco where I'm to play to avoid them to escape
Well, I'm telling personal things that probably doesn't bother to anyone, but I just wanted to make you all to know (including Billy Joel) that in Spain there are thousands of fans that love his music, that we'd like him to come to Spain and get a concert here, and that this almost 50 years old Spaniard is about to do a silly but nice thing as play piano and sing, as a personal tribute to Billy Joel and his magical music.
Just in the case that we do it not so bad and want to repeat the experience in a pub, is there anyone that would like to join us? We'll do it for free, by the way, and we have several places in Madrid that would probably let us play. Let me know.
If you are from Spain send messages to Bill and let's see if we can convince him to visit us. Who knows...
Hello Billy, goodnight.
Many people can sing or write, but few are able to transmit your feelings as intensely as you did feel, even people who did not understand your own language. Therein lies your success and why people will continued year after year, throughout your career. Never had the pleasure of hearing you sing live, but as a teenager listening to your music for a long time and saved money to buy your records. You've been part of the soundtrack that has filled my life and therefore I thank you. Never stop feeling, compose and perform music because you have that special gift that makes people be a little happier. Like all of us around here, as those who are not here but love your music, we love to see you live, but I suppose that this request will make you the thousands of people all over the world, so I just cross my fingers if one day I can see you play. Be happy and that all who pass through here is safe. A hug to everyone. Luisa
P.D: Sorry, but my english is not good.
