does anyone know if mr joel is coming to philly for a concert if they do when is it
We got tickets thursday since they opened sales early to season ticket holders. says it's "sold out" so maybe they'll add a second date. but of course they always say it's sold out. Hope it's as great as when we say their original face2face tour at vet stadium.
as a long time fan of both billy and elton, i've been to many of thier shows over the years and getting tickets were never much of a problem to get before this.i agree, they should have gone with ticket master, i was unable to get tickets for either of the 2 shows. in my opinion, citizens bank park isnt the greatest choice of venues either , in my opinion. they should have selected (as they have in the past) the wachovia center or spectrum (the spectrum is expected to be torn down just after september 30,2009 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wachovia_Spectrum) over the years, billy and elton (separate and together) have sold out many , many shows at these venues and it would be the perfect last event for the spectrum. hopefully more shows will be added
I also had many many problems with Comcastix.com What a joke that site is. There is no way a normal person could ever get tickets, unless they want to pay 3 to 4 times more than they were originally worth. I tried with these two new concerts, I also tried the last time they were together, with no luck. All the tickets are going to scalpers, and other Ticket web sites that rip everyone off.
Second show on August 1st. Tickets on sale I presume this Saturday, but don't hold me to that.
I too had Comcast issues. I would have gotten great seats (section f row 17) but comcast dumped them before i could complete checkout. Now i'll have to pay broker prices or not go! I have been a fan since the 70's also and I can't bear to miss out on a show so close to home! I pray they add another show.
I to had "challenges" getting tix, but I did have a happy ending....well maybe. I got a promo code from comcast to buy presale tix, and could not get all the wat through the purchase thursday or friday, spent many hours on the phone, to no avail, then luckly got through on the phone this morning and got 6 tix for the bargin price of $1200! Thank god i'll be bringing the hubble telescope so that i will be able to see!! Just Kidding!!!! This will bethe 9th time seeing them together and i will be taking the inlaws, so i trust that this will be a great night!!! I really hope we hear some nice 52nd st stuff....ZANZIBAR!!!!!! Hopfully i will see you all there.......joey
Sold out in 12 minutes. My kind of economic stimulation.
Sadly, because ComcastTix site went down minutes after tickets for the July 30th show at Citizens Bank Park went on sale, I am out of luck. I was online at 8am waiting for the tickets to go on sale at 10am. Tickets went on sale and I was on the page to choose quanity and best available when ComcastTix entire site froze. I frantically tried and tried, then called and called the ComcastTix number. Finally at 10:50am the site unfroze as well as someone answered at ComcastTix only to tell me it was sold out. I have been a dedicated fan of both Billy Joel and Elton John since the 70's, this was a show I did not want to miss, but thanks to ComastTix looks like I will not be there. I don't know why Ticketmaster was not used for this show.
