I'm a teenager and obsessed with Billy!!! I've been to a lot of concerts!!! Any other young fans out there!?

I'm 17, I think that's rather young. I've only been to one Joel concert and it was amazing. I went through the obsession stage two years ago though, when I went out and bought every album he made on CD and vinyl and then got all the DVDs and went online searching for bootlegs, it was bad. But now that I have so much, the obsession has dwindled down a tad.

I was 19 when the Stranger was first released and I'm still obsessed 31 years later!

You know I've spent the last 18 months being obsessed with BJ and I keep wondering when I will get over the obsession. Of course I am not really sure that I want to get past it. I've never found another artist whose music touches me in the same way. Rock on Billy!

That's a catch 22, I want to get over the obsession, but my life would be the poorer for it.
Stick with the obsession, I think it is healthier in the long run!

hey! i don't know how old you are now, or if ur still interested in billy joel, but i'm a teenager and COMPLETELY obsessed with him 2!! i've been to 2 of his concerts, have every single song he's ever published on my ipod, and i'm half way through his biography!

I'm not as young as others in this thread, but I wouldn't call myself a prototypical Billy Joel fan.
My friends and I used to use "The Longest Time" as our pre-performance hype up song during our beatbox and breakdance days.
We remade "The Longest Time" video for our friends' wedding.

i'm 13 (male) and i've been listening to billy joel since i was 8 and have about 15 albums. i've been to both concerts in perth, Australia and loved them both.i got 2 shirts and i wear them all the time aroud my friends. Am i the only young Billy Joel fan in Australia because i used to get teased but i stuck through it.

Hi, I'm a 17 year old girl, and new to the site... I've listened to Billy Joel ever since I was little, but just for a couple of years have I been totally in love with his music. Prolly cause I just got an ipod with more space.
I don't listen to much 'new' music, cause a lot of it's just so shallow. But Billy Joel's music is deep and emotional. And just freakin' amazing. It makes me happy. 
I'm very young and go to a school that (no offense) is very ghetto. I'm one of about 2 Billy Joel fans and I LOOOOOOVE playing his music (hints my name).
My absolute dream is to hear him live in New York but to hear him at all would be AMAZING! When is he going to tour again!?!?!

im 17, i love billy joel he's the reason i took up playn the piano 9 years ago, nd the first song i proly learned legitly was piano man. Now, im in a band nd we close with Only the Good Die Young, which is my favorite song!

I'm 15 (male). I first bought "The Essential Billy Joel" then I got "Piano Man" on CD. Today I got "Storm Front" on CD and "The Stranger" on record. AWESOME music. I really like it.
As a musician myself I really like listening to Billy's music for inspiration, it really gives a good musical example. Powerful lyrics. Next I want to get "Turnstiles." I really like songs like "Say Goodbye to Hollywood" "New York State of Mind" and "Miami 2017.' Those were on Essential Billy Joel and I want to see what else is on Turnstiles.

Hey I'm 16 (male) and I have been a Billy Joel fan for about a year or two now but its proboblly evolved into more of an obsession haha. My favorite album is proboblly Cold Spring Harbor because I too am a pianist and CSH, as well as alot of his earlier material, is very piano oriented. I would have to say Scenes... is my favorite song of his but closely followed by Tomorrow is Today or Rosalinda from his 1972 radio concert in Philadelphia. I'm also looking forword to the CSH re release and I hope there is more unreleased tracks such as in My Lives but there hasn't been much news on it :/
i am 32 now but discovered billy when I was 14 and he's been my favorite singer/songwriter ever since. I'll always associate his music as being like a bigger brother/mentor helping me through my awkward teenage years. In my teenage years it was the birth of grunge and techno and so I was drawn to Billy because it was REAL music that seemed to give me hope about the often lonely , confused day to day high school dilemas I faced. Longest Time., Everybody Has A Dream, She's Always A Woman, Tomorrow is Today, Until The Night, Thanks Billy- you gave a kid a reason to dream. xxx
o i feel old well being 45 looks like i am .I was a kid growing up in the Bay .My frends dad was walking with us to the store one day a car pulled up to the light he askd us do you know who that is we had no ida he told us its billy joel .When we got to there house his dad put on a record of billys bin a fan from that day on seen his show no less then 12 times .Some at the Garden in NY and in GA with Elton seen countless concerts of a lot of bands but Billy puts on some of the best shows .He unlike some i have seen realy looks like he is doing it for his fans and the fun not for the money .Wish more people out there were like him .Thank you for the grate times
